Abstract

Teamwork in developed and in many emerging societies today is marked by increased fluidity of interactions with others facilitated globally by the web and mobile technology. Even small startup businesses may operate very successfully on a global as well as a local level by means of online trading or ‘crowdsourcing’ for instance. Amy Edmondson in “Teaming: How Organizations Learn, Innovate, and Compete in the Knowledge Economy” says that ‘surviving and thriving’ today requires a ‘seismic shift’ in how we think about and build, collaborate or support teams.
