Abstract

A 2008 draft of analysis of CEQuery data for the Australian School of Business collected at end of 2007. Using the CEQuery software to analyse the qualitative data from the UNSW student experience survey can be useful for enriching the quantitative data obtained but some aspects of this data type and its display must be borne in mind.

1. The low numbers of responses for a number of specific programs means that it is not useful to ‘drill down’, so this report focuses only on those areas with larger numbers of comments.

2. Some of the students’ raw comments overlap more than one domain e.g. ‘design’ and ‘staff quality’ or sub-domain i.e. particular aspects of design such as flexibility or assessment. Consequently, care must be exercised in the analysis and interpretation.

3. Comments may be placed in more than one domain category.
