Abstract

The development of the new PNR system was accompanied with “bitter” and rigorous debates through various EU bodies and human rights organizations. Therefore, this paper will discuss whether PNR data processing measures would be effective and necessary for a better fighting against terrorism and serious crimes, among other already existing measures. Moreover, the paper will analyze how the new PNR system will be working on practice and whether an individual’s fundamental rights and principles will be safeguarded.
