Administrators’ Roles in Education and Thai's Teacher Development in the 21st Century

Abstract

The objective of this study is to study Administrators’ Roles in Education of the basic establishment for education in Teacher Development of the 21st Century. The study has done with studied document, in-depth interview from Dean of Education Faculty, District Director of the basic educational areas, School’s Director of the basic educational areas and teachers who had been rewarded with Outstanding Teacher Award in the total of 60 people and there were 25 persons being as main information providers. Thus, the study found that Educational Roles of Administrators in the 21st Century are consisted of 3 main components, they are 1) The Usage of the 21st Century Leadership at least for 5 skills in the administrative jobs. 2) The Continuation of Promotion, Control, Direct and Follow Up and the Evaluation of Characteristic of Being Teacher of the 21st Century. And 3) The Giving Priority to the Academic Work Administration by increasing the Application of Information Technology in the administrative jobs.
