Abstract

MBA/Exec. Ed teams' were engaged on live consulting projects during 1997-1998 as part of their program assessment for the capstone module 'Strategic Integrated Management Systems' (SIMS). The teams worked on diverse projects in a range of organisations from Small to Medium Enterprises to Multi-National Corporations. These projects were organised and facilitated through team members' networks and with the help of the Wales Quality Centre which awarded an annual prize to businesses which demonstrated quality systems and performance and which operated within Wales. The teams kept individual and collective logs and diaries of their project activity, roles and outcomes and delivered presentations to the managements of the organisations represented at the conclusion of their program. This is a draft document outlining requirements of such diaries which academic staff assessed and researched following the university permissions and ethics procedures.

Keywords: consulting, tacit and explicit knowledge, teamwork, organisational entry and exit
