Abstract
The present work investigates the secured and characteristic decrement of heat transfer rate of flat aluminum plate in presence of pulsating jet over constant jet. Heat transfer augmentation through flat plate is experimentally determined by recording the temperatures of base plate at different specified locations. While, the forced convective heat transfer coefficient is numerically modeled between various injection and geometric parameters by performing regression analysis. The guarantee of enhancement or degradation in heat transfer rate is decided by constructing a non-dimensional parameter at the heels of jet to the target spacing, characteristic length of base plate and duty cycle of pulsating jet. By performing continuous iterations between these parameters, it is concluded that, if the magnitude of newly developed non-dimensional number falls below the threshold value of 0.088, heat transfer due to pulsating jet will result in enhancement and conversely will result in decrement.
