Abstract
The introduction to the Estonian edition of Hart’s Concept of Law offers an overview of the recent developments in the debates that Hart inspired on the nature of law, the nature of obligation to obey the law and law’s relationship with morality. While Hart called his book "The Concept of Law," what he actually proposes is an analysis of the nature of law, rather than the concept, as Joseph Raz has pointed out. Accordingly, the object of my analysis is not the concept but the entities that fall under the concept. I attempt to inspire the reader to get involved in the debates over the nature of law by showing how jurisprudence is full of intriguing disagreements.
Note: The introduction was published in Estonian. On SSRN it is currently available in its original form, in English.
