The cheap and irreversible transfers of money, the intricate chains of transactions and the lack of a proper legislative basis of using blockchain technologies lead to the fact that the number of crimes related to the use of cryptocurrency is increasing every year. According to Europol, crypto-currency has become increasingly used in the sexual exploitation of children on the Internet. First of all, it concerns the exchange of materials with the demonstration of child violence, sexual acts with people under legal age etc. We made the analysis two groups of cypercrimes can be distinguished: socially dangerous acts in which crypto-currencies used as means of committing crimes, crypto-currencies are used by criminals to buy weapons, drugs, pornography, etc; encroachments committed against the crypto-currency. One of the trends of using blockchain technologies is the creation of financial pyramids, which can be sponsors of terrorism. We made the conclusion the crypto-currencies open new possibilities for committing cybercrimes which creates new challenges for legislative basis of national states and law enforcement authorities.
