Abstract

The paper is devoted to the analysis of the peculiarities of spiral model of the information system’s life cycle. Spiral model is proposed by Barry Boehm in 1988 years. This model defines the starting stages of the life cycle of the information system and allow to justify the possibility of implementation of designed technical solutions. On each turn, the prototype of the projected information system is improved, supplemented and fully implemented. In this case, it is not needed to wait for the end of each stage. This model allows to move on to the following spiral turns and solve problems or imperfections on the next level, which makes the projection process more efficient, flexible and complete in more short time. Spiral model has the following features: the orientation towards modernization information system; the accumulation of all decisions is made in the process of designing and creating models and prototypes of the information system; allow to make analysis of costs and all risks in the process of the creation of information system.

The spiral model consists of the following repeating stages: definition of requirements; analysis; design; implementation and testing; integration; implementation. We made the conclusion that it is necessary minimize risks during the application of the spiral model of information system’s life cycle.
