Abstract

We normally assume that weapons of mass destruction are military weapons that are nuclear, chemical or biological. Yet the non-military weapons of mass destruction, e.g., environmental pollution, populism, unemployment, religious fanaticism, trade wars, etc. can be even more devastating, probable, and perennial. Their ubiquitous presence has lulled us; we have got used to them; and we die a slow death because of them. This is a matter of great concern to the millennials because each will face these weapons on a daily basis in various mixes in their lives.

Keywords: weapons of mass destruction, environment, populism, unemployment, religion, trade wars
