Abstract

One method to look at the performance of the employees and the awareness of the student is by using attendance system. Currently, wireless technology is booming. Various agencies and industrial use network infrastructures and applications using wireless technology in the daily activities. Wireless is also indispensable for users with high mobility. As for the implementation, the wireless network standards are already made, such as IEEE 802.15.1 Bluetooth, WiFi IEEE 802.11 and IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee. The design and implementation of the attendance system required wireless technology for the user's location information. This attendance system was implemented by using the latest bluetooth technology that was Bluetooth Low Energy. One of the Bluetooth Low Energy products produced in Indonesia was Cubeacon. This Cubeacon could send location information from users based on bluetooth signal. The result of design and implementation of this attendance system was prototype of android application that could run system functionality. This android application was integrated with server and Cubeacon as the access point and it was composed of several activities that could be accessed by the valid users. This android application was made by using software Android Studio 2.3.2 which was the official software to develop android applications in open source.
