New York Right of Publicity: Reimagining Privacy and the First Amendment in the Digital Age - AELJ Spring Symposium 2

Abstract

This February 2 panel discussion, sponsored by the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal, considered recent proposals to amend New York State's right of publicity statute and a broader range of issues surrounding the right of publicity in light of new technologies. Later in the spring of 2, the New York Assembly introduced a substantially modified bill, but many of the concerns raised by the panelists at this session apply to the most recent proposal in Albany.
