Abstract

The paper deals with the analysis of features of Russian middle class from PR poing of view. Modern Russian middle class is young, well-educated, who has good level of income. These people live in large cities as Moscow, St.Petersburg, Rostov-na-Dony, Kasan’, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok etc. We considered the main objective criteria for referring to the middle class: level of education and income; Consumption standards; Possession of material or intellectual property; Ability to highly skilled work; Self-identification as a representative of the "social middle".

We made the conclusion that, only about 25% of the population in Russia fully corresponds to middle class’ requirement. So according to piarological approach middle class in Russia, even if it exists, is fundamentally different from its western counterparts.
