Abstract

This is a conference report on a recent conference that took place at the Tirana International Hotel & Conference Centre, Albania, 14-16 June 2018 and was attended by over 300 delegates from around the world. It was organised by the European Forum for Restorative Justice in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Albania and the Albanian Foundation for Conflict Resolution & Reconciliation of Disputes, with the support of the Justice Programme of the European Commission, OSCE Presence in Albania, Save the Children Albania Country Office, the Open Society Foundation for Albania, UNICEF Albania, the US Embassy in Tirana and the Municipality of Tirana. The conference brought together both academics and practitioners in a really welcoming and innovative way; it consisted of a variety of plenaries, presentations and workshops which were often thought-provoking and challenging to a criminal justice historian who is more used to dealing with dead people!
