Abstract

Increasingly, online harassment is an issue of public debate and concern, particularly in the context of pervasive problems like cyberbullying hate speech and trolling (Jessica A. Pater, Moon K. Kim, Elizabeth D. Mynatt & Casey Fiesler). Online harassment comes in different forms and as the recent nationally- representative surveys conducted by LIRNEasia show, a considerable amount of Internet and Social media users have witnessed or experienced online harassment. The data further provide evidence to suggest that online harassment is a barrier for internet and Social media adoption.
