Abstract

The emergence of precision medicine and population health reveals a potential divergence of perspective among experts in these fields. Personalizing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to address the needs of individual patients raises the specter of increased costs without addressing the need for interventions that enhance the health of the broader population. This symposium brought together experts in medicine, science, law and ethics to discuss and debate the issues.

Keywords: precision medicine, personalized health, genomics, genetics, population science, epidemiology, bioethics
