Abstract
The rural areas in India are facing acute scarcity of social & physical infrastructure and employment opportunities, similar is the case with urban areas which are facing gigantic problem of urban infrastructure primarily due to mass migration from rural to urban areas. This paper addresses the issues for the comprehensive sustainable growth, integrating Village to the cities through Rurban clusters. The Methodology adopted is Mapping & Assessment of existing Physical, Social Infrastructure and economic opportunities at village-cluster-block level. The outcome of the paper shall be the strategies for mutually complementing Spatial-Socio- Economic & Infrastructural development of Villages and nearest Urban Centre(s) leading towards a balanced regional growth and development as envisaged in 73rd & 74th Constitutional amendment Act 1992. Rurban cluster shall play a catalytic role in the process.
