Abstract

This exercise is part 1 of a two-part exec Ed exercise aiming to improve active listening skills in exec teams. Individual members of teams of executives use the template and exemplar to record and subsequently discuss their understanding of the views of others in their team on reflection and discussion topics set by the facilitator. Part 2 then begins to build the active listening skills necessary for teams who will later be working upon their chosen team action research project (which are varied from one year to the next ,depending in part on the composition of the executives in a team)

Keywords: active listening, building hearing-listening focus, executive decisions and ´walking the talk´
