Abstract
This paper introduces a novel mobile application prototype that supports children with special needs using multimodal learning materials and their instructors to teach their lessons resourcefully. Children can easily acclimate with the modern computing devices and learn lessons from multimodal items of the Internet resources (texts, audios, videos, and images). This prototype mainly helps children by providing them friendly and usable user interface design and effortless input (children's stories) system for the generation of learning materials. Output contains multimodal resources with some exceptional facilities like audio/ video playlist, text reader that attract children for learning purposes and so forth. This research is mainly based on the special needs children’s interaction with smart devices. The prototype facilitate learning with easy interaction and the multimodal approach helps children understanding their lessons more effectively. The significance of this research is that it holds a great promise to introduce a novel dimension in HCI (Human Computer Interaction) research by introducing the usage of multimodal approaches for learning materials generation for the children with special needs.
