Abstract
Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies are still generating opposing views ranging from being a fraud to being the source of a new economy. Those differences are stemming from confusion, bias and vested interest. This paper is an attempt to generate an unbiased, unified market definition to fill a literature gap and to provide guidance using a bottom-up approach to enable a better understanding of the cryptocurrency’s potentials using the market own lens.
