Abstract

This introduction explains the aim, context and purpose of the book as well as the need for an interdisciplinary study of EU criminal justice. It also discusses the content of the book and the limitations to the study. In particular it discusses the need for and problems with a more evidence-based approach to lawmaking in the area of EU criminal law.
