Abstract
The most important form of gender inequality is revealed through domestic violence which is faced by the Indian women. The domestic violence against women is perpetrated by their partners or the non-partners. This paper is mainly highlighting the impact of some socio-economic factors of respondent’s husbands on physical violence. This study is based on primary data that is collected from Mansa district of Punjab. The study shows that most of the respondent’s husband are illiterate and engaged in casual work. The result shows that As the income of the husband increases, there are less chances of physical violence against women, so we can say that income of the husband is also important factor for curbing domestic violence. No doubt, women face less physical violence whose husband’s education status is high but It is clear from analysis that women in this district face physical violence at almost all stages of education of their husbands but as education level of men increases the violence against women decreasing. So to reduce the level of physical violence it is necessary to uplift the level of education.
