Retrofittable CO2 Capture for Cement – Progress Made in the Cemcap Project
Posted: 17 Apr 2019 Last revised: 28 Apr 2019
Abstract
The CEMCAP project has successfully tested and evaluated and advanced four different technologies for CO2 capture from cement kilns and compared these against MEA capture technology. A framework was set up to ensure the consistency of the research and the results. The next steps for technology development are presented. In addition to further technology development, also stable political and economic conditions are required for the realization of full-scale CCS in the cement industry.
