Abstract

The time of the formation of the linguistic concept “success” by Victor Vinogradov defines the XVI – XVII centuries, revealing the weakening of its semantic connection with the verb

The functional load of the assessment of the productivity of the concept of “success” is associated with the fundamental categories of everyday life, without which it is difficult to imagine the functioning of culture as an instrumental system through which a person positions himself in the environment to most effectively solve pressing life tasks or sets of programs of joint activity of people. From which we can conclude that in the XVI – XVII centuries. “Success” supersedes some conceptual or complex set that is close in categorical function.

The aim of the study is to reconstruct the evolutionary semiotic series the concept of “success”.

The research materials were the explanatory dictionaries of V. I. Dahl, S. I. Ozhegov, T. F. Efremov, S. A. Kuznetsov, and others, the dictionary of synonyms by V. N. Trishin, proverbs and sayings of the Russian language by V. I. Dahl, S. I. Ozhegova, V. M. Mokienko and T. G. Nikitina, mythological dictionaries by M. N. Botvinnik, M. A. Kogan, E. M. Meletinsky, etymological dictionary of the Russian language by M. Fasmera — O. N. Trubachev, individual works of S. S. Averintsev, V. V. Vinogradov, V. V. Ivanov, A. F. Losev, B. A. Rybakov, V. N. Toporov, V. A. Yakobson, devoted to folklore studies, historical lexicologists and mythology.

The main method is cultural urological attribution (cultural attribution in the interpretation of A. Ya. Flier) (Flier, 2015) of a set of concepts of the Russian language expressing a positive assessment of productive activities with polytheistic and monotheistic cultural models in order to reconstruct the evolutionary semiotic series the concept of “success”.

The connection of repression by the concept of “success” in the written speech of the XVI – XVII centuries was found. a set of similar in meaning language concepts with the evolution of the pagan worldview. In oral speech, the multiplicity of concepts in the sense of “success” is preserved in a weak modality, losing touch with sacred pagan entities and magical practices (for example: Rod (in English Genus) — in paganism not only the category of being and the divine essence, but also the designation of success, preserved in modern speech in the concepts of rodovityj, genial'nyj (in English gently (gentlemen), genius; Spor (the deity of wealth), sporá, spórina, spóryniya, spóryj, spóro — in the modern language is preserved as “peresporit'”, etc.). Evolutionary semiotic series: Rod and rozhenicy (parturient women), chthonic essences → amulets and helper spirits (many specialized sacred concepts of success related to activities, including Srécha, the deity of fate, prophecy, success) → binary concept of “uspekh / udacha” (success / good luck).
