Abstract
We have witnessed in Africa over the past decade the decline in the environment and the continuous pressure on the environment through the instrumentality of pollution, degradation, climate change, natural disaster, draught, desertification among others. These phenomena had been and will continue to challenge man in his existence. The problem is not that these environmental issues occur, the problem is, how humans are perceived and treated in the face of these environmental challenges. This paper x-rayed the concept of Environmental Justice in Africa, with the intention to ascertain whether environmental justice really exists or whether it is a mere fallacy merely borrowed from the advanced nations to fulfill all righteousness. We found among others that to a very great extent, that environmental justice in Africa is a concept with little or no hope of being actualized.
