Abstract

Women and the LGBT community are held back by traditional beliefs, with social norms continuing to push them into traditional roles. The media and all its forms act as the fastest way to communicate news to society and are also helpful for the awareness of issues like gender equality and women empowerment. Gender equality is the equal valuing by society of the similarities and the differences between men and women, and the roles they play. The paper consists of the content which showers light on the topic of gender equality and its promotion via media. Women should focus on developing skills that are required for achieving progress, development, and success along with empowerment Media, especially new media being vital tools should come up with innovative ideas to promote social change and bring an insurgency in the thoughts and views of people regarding gender discrimination and gender biases.
