Abstract

The biggest problem faced by our country is confronted daily by the most important resource: its people. Degenerative diseases have replaced contagious diseases as the more prevalent ailments endured by Indonesians since the year 2000. Due to the significance of oil in our food chain and given the dire state of our current and projected national health, this research is in due time to discuss what really the impacts of palm oil consumption on human health. After that, it will explain what causes palm oil to have undesirable effects on the human body. In the last parts, we will explain why coconut oil is a safer and more robust alternative to palm oil, because it can it be mass-produced so as to be enjoyed by the most Indonesians in a robust manufacturing process, i.e. the one that has all the product integrity of a healthy, yet, elegant cooking oil, whose production process will not only not spoil the environment but even preserve it.
