Abstract

The rapid rise in population across developing countries and the sudden urbanization has outbursted with several issues. These are on a daily basis as well as ones to come in the near future. Issues such as road traffic, parking availability and congestion are on the need to be addressed. It is here the concept of smart city comes into the picture and IoT is the front-runner in the process of deploying one such. In this paper we describe a design of cloud integrated automated parking system that takes into account not only the parking lots available but also the size of the car to be parked with predefined data. It is concerned with deploying an onsite IoT module that signals data of the available parking lots. Also an integrated mobile application is also in the fray of design which facilitates service providers of parking across the entire city from different areas to integrate so that the users can pre book their slots depending on the availability.
