Abstract
The purpose of this study is to produce the light weight and cost-effective composite laminates from alternate natural fibres. Study carried out on comparative software-based analysis of natural fiber (coconut coir & rattan) with Kevlar fiber for the bullet proof vest application. composite plates are planned to use as a replacement of Kevlar fiber-based composites in bullet proof vest for reducing weight and cost compare to existing vest material. Software based analysis shows that coir is suitable for replacement of Kevlar.
