Abstract

The article deals with the analysis of museum exhibition as an information text of intercultural communication. We concentrated on the uniqueness of the museum’s language, which is based on graphic sources that do not have the ability to reproduce. We considered the museum exhibition as an informational text of culture, as “a semantic whole, which is an organized unity of its constituent elements. The museum can be called a kind of chronicle of the time, an intercultural communication system. Thus, we made the conclusion that the museum exhibition, representing a text of culture, involves several types of perception, interpretation, attitude towards oneself. The presence of these three “positions” is both a consequence and a guarantee of its existence. It is this fact that also defines a museum thing as a myth.
