Abstract

The aim of this report is to forecast the next 10 years of the new Blockchain Technology (BT). This will be accomplished by specifying the domain, defining the current picture and modelling the driver set, which will result in identifying the dilemmas.

The research conducted indicates that Blockchain is a new technology created to facilitate payment transactions and improve virtual data safety. Currently, Blockchain is situated at an initial development stage. Interests from companies in the network are increasing, as they see the potential of Blockchain and cryptocurrencies in many market sectors. Blockchain is only at the start of its potential. However, through the investigation conducted it has been possible to identify four possible future scenarios. Each picture considers the two variables of investment and adoption shifting between high and low. Analysis have focused mainly on the great impact of disruption that BT will cause on markets with high investment and high adoption. Strategies will be recommended to deal with the future implications of blockchain.
