Anthropocentric Paradigm Hegemony in Agricultural Plant Protection Activities

Abstract

Aim of study is to find out anthropocentric paradigm hegemony in agricultural plant protection activities. Approach of study method used reference research (library research) and conducted analysis-synthesis of facts and data relating with implementation of anthropocentric and holistic-ecological paradigm in agricultural field. Results of study shows that : (a) Actions of farmers in eradicating pests with synthetic pesticides as the only method, and human ideas oriented to physical production is the indication of mechanistic-reductionist, anthropocentric paradigm domination; (b) There are negative impacts in the form of damage/pollution on agricultural environment as evidence that hegemony occurred by the anthropocentric paradigm towards agro ecosystems; (c) Changing on farmer’s main set who originally adopted anthropocentric paradigm towards sustainable holistic-ecological paradigm is the solution to overcome the damage of agricultural environment. Changing on farmer’s point of view from conventional technology towards the use sustainable technology (PHT and Organic Agricultural Technology) is the real action in present agriculture to strengthen the holistic-ecological paradigm.
