Abstract

Opening a bank account is one of the issues experienced by international students in the first month after arriving in France. Marketing researchers have studied the customer experience in the physical service sector. However, there have been scant articles respecting international student experience. Adopting qualitative interviews with the students in a French university city, the author elicits the topic of opening a bank account in France and then has them describe the details of the service encounters. In the end, the author concludes five driving factors: Convenience, time, language, security, interaction and also make a conceptual framework.
