Abstract

The interaction of language and politics should be considered from the point of view of two perspectives, when language acts as an instrument of politics and when language is its object. In other words, the language is often used as an instrument for conducting political activities in order to achieve certain political objectives and influence society. And on the other hand, the language itself is part of the communicative space, and a certain policy is being directed towards it, aimed at its development.

In a language there are always many ways to say the same thing. However, the choice of a particular linguistic unit, syntactic structure or figure of speech is not random, it is always motivated by the intentions and goals of the speaker. There are many examples of the fact that a word in political discourse can acquire real explosive power and serve as a weighty basis for inciting conflicts.

Keywords: Spanish language, politics, political discourse, multi-ethnic space
