Abstract

As soon as technology growth, the energy consumed by NoConnects begins to compete with the energy consumed by other elements of the communications subsystem: routers and network interfaces (NI). The project offers a series of data coding schemes aimed at reducing the energy consumed by NoC links. The proposed scheme is generic and transparent with respect to the basic NoC texture (i.e. its implementation does not require changes to the routing and link structure). The proposed encoding was encoded in HDL and simulated using Xilinx 12.1.

Keywords: Combining Switch Activity, Data Encoding, Network Interface (NI), On-Grid (NoC)
