Abstract
In this paper, we examine how benefits awarded by organizations to employees, as a way to increase their employment revenues, have changed during the last decade in Europe. To do so, we use empirical data from two research rounds (1999 and 2009) of the CRANET research project in 15 countries.
In addition to mapping the use of such tools by companies across time, our aim is also to investigate the link of such benefits that previous research has accentuated as valuable to employees and useful for high morale within the workplace, with diverse performance indicators. By doing so, we plan to explore whether a specific profile of the organization that adopts specific benefits systems exists.
The paper will then discuss the implications of its findings on the implementation of such benefits schemes, both for organizations and for employees.
