Abstract

This thesis addresses the impact of 3D printing on patent law. As of the time of writing (2016) CAD files were not intensively explored under patent law, the author first addresses CAD files from patent law perspective and introduces the term of "Digital Patent Infringement" and later emerges into a comparison to copyright law and what to learn from the piracy movement in the late 90s, early 20s.
