Abstract
In the present-day, across the globe, the significance and popularity of English as lingua franca cannot be repudiated and overlooked as English is the most common language spoken universally. It is the major window to the modern world. Our topic is extensively focused on the global influence of the language, including colonial, native, economic, and academic. The way it turned out to be one of the official languages in India and its effect on law, business, economics, science, social sciences etc. have been discussed in detail. The forms and variation of the language across different countries of Europe, including history and evolution of the language keeping in mind the colonial aspect is also a part of our topic.
In the later parts of our topic we have discussed the impact of this language in the field of science in detail.
