The Orientation of the Daisen Kofun

Abstract
The baseline of the greatest Kofun (keyhole shaped tomb) of Japan is shown to be very precisely oriented to the setting sun at the summer solstice. The possibility that such an alignment does not occur by chance is briefly discussed.
