Abstract

Chapters in "Imperatives for Legal Education Research" explore imperatives for accepting and defining the idea of legal education research. Legal education research is not currently classified as a distinct field of research, but its status matters because legal education research will count for the next iteration of the Australian Research Council's national research evaluation process. Although this issue is a principal (and unresolved) focus of this edited collection, chapters range across topics such as the scholarship of learning and teaching (SoLT), the scholarship of legal education (SoLE), neoliberalism, education regulation, purposes of legal education, and legal education's possible futures.

Keywords: legal education research, scholarship of learning and teaching, scholarship of legal education, neoliberalism in legal education, education regulation

JEL Classification: K10, K30
