Abstract

The paper considers the issue of racial discrimination in the United States in criminal prosecutions for murder and other capital offenses. The relevance of this issue is undeniable and based on the notable discrimination against black people in the application of the death penalty in the United States. Statistics show that judges are more likely to impose the death penalty on black people rather than on white Americans in similar cases. Statistics were provided to confirm the severity of the problem of discrimination in the United States. Among other things, real cases of courts whose decisions appear to be clearly discriminatory are cited as well.
