Abstract

“What the hell are you doing befriending the court: Don’t you have enough enemies already?” is one of the many questions I was asked when we filed our amicus curiae (friend-of-the-court) application in the presidential election petition brought by John Patrick Amama Mbabazi (JPAM). Surprisingly, the question came from a fellow academic, who felt that the issue was too “political” for an academic to be involved in.
