The Domestic Relations Bill and Human Rights: Some Critical Reflections

Abstract

This short paper attempts to accomplish a number of objectives, including: Providing an historical dimension to the analysis of the Domestic Relations Bill (DRB); Outlining the broad constitutional and human rights framework within which the issue should be examined; Highlighting the particular aspects of the bill which have human rights implications, and Responding to the Report of the Committee on Legal & Parliamentary Affairs (March 2005).
