Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic has not only physical impact but it also has its impact on the economy, social and psychological aspects of life. The vulnerable population of the society, i.e., the old, youth, women and poor sections of the society are more likely to be impacted if not directly with the virus with the psychological aspect. Outbreak of pandemic, lockdown, isolation, fall down in economy, and uncertainty around can lead to stress, anxiety and panic. If not addressed can prolong leaving its impact on once memory, behaviour, coping abilities and impact long-term health. India the third worst hit by pandemic, with a huge young population, and stigma of mental illness among masses can lead to exposure to it for prolonged period intensely damaging overall well-being. Early and timely intervention to curb the challenge is the need of the hour.
