Abstract

Just what do we mean when we characterize someone as a “Hyperpolyglot”? This paper delves into the existing definitional ambiguities regarding the terminology of “Hyperpolyglot,” and argues that HYPIA’s formation has added greater clarity to the question through its membership process for hyperpolyglots around the world.

Keywords: polyglot, hyperpolyglot, HYPIA, polyglotism, multilingualism, language acquisition
