Building a Real-Time Database for Gdp(E)
8 Pages Posted: 26 Apr 2005
Abstract
The Bank's Monetary Policy Committee analyzes a wide variety of data to inform its monetary policy decisions. Some of these data are revised over time, and taking account of possible revisions is an important part of assessing any data release. This article discusses the construction of a database that contains successive releases of data for the expenditure measure of gross domestic product and its components, dating back to 1961. The database is available to external users on the Bank's Internet site.
