Abstract
Computer-aided software engineering (CASE) technology has been used to successfully automate time-consuming and repetitive engineering tasks with a goal of improving quality and productivity. Using CASE allows designers, code writers, testers, planners, and managers to share a common view of where a project stands at each stage of development. The successful of CASE use depends on the various factors. The objective of this paper is to identify and analyze the factors which facilitate the successful use of CASE technology and the particularities of this in the Romanian business environment. The user responsibilities concerning information systems development activities, the well-defined framework of development process at organizational level, the support of management are important factors for the success of use CASE technology in the firms.
