Abstract

The Doha Development Round evidences the WTO's commitment to bringing developing countries into the global trading system as full participants. Technical assistance is a critical component of that objective, but there remain a number of structural challenges impeding the organizations ability to provide effective assistance. This Essay explores some of those challenges - from the WTO's perspective as well as from that of developing countries - and suggests ways of making technical assistance relevant in the Post-Doha era.
