Abstract

This article examines a survey of client satisfaction completed by seventy-eight youth who have been involved in the New York State Family Court system. In considering youth client satisfaction, this article draws upon professional responsibility standards, looking at lawyers' current obligations. The discussion then turns to psychological literature regarding adolescent functions. And finally this essay concludes by suggesting that children's attorneys should have heightened professional obligations to attend to the principal aspects of representation which youth value most.
