2025 Hanyang Accounting Research Symposium (HARS)
Theme: Recent Technologies in Accounting and Finance

The Department of Accounting at Hanyang University Business School is pleased to announce the inagural Hanyang Accounting Research Symposium (HARS) and invites submissions of original research papers. This annual symposium aims to serve as a platform for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to engage in meaningful discussions about the transformative role of emerging technologies in accounting and finance.
The 2025 symposium will spotlight the application of machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), large language models (LLMs), and alternative data in a broad domain of accounting and finance research. Submissions employing diverse methodologies—analytical, archival, experimental, field studies, or mixed methods—are encouraged. Papers with significant practical implications are also highly encouraged.

[ Submission Guidelines ]
- Submissions must represent original, unpublished work.
- Papers must be submitted by January 31, 2025.
- Notifications of acceptance will be sent by March 15, 2025.
- Papers must be submitted in PDF format via the symposium’s webpage (https://hanyanghars.com/).

[ Presentation Requirement ]
- Accepted papers must be presented at the symposium by at least one of the authors.
- For accepted papers, the symposium will reimburse international presenters up to USD 1,000 per paper for travel expenses.
